About

Written by someone who actually went.

Audacia Travel exists because too much travel content is written by people who've never left their desk.

Why we exist

Search for almost any Australian destination and you'll find the same handful of facts, rewritten by a dozen different sites, none of whom have actually been. It's efficient content production, but it isn't much use when you're standing at a trailhead trying to work out if you've packed enough water.

Audacia Travel is our attempt to do the opposite: fewer destinations, covered properly. Every guide starts with someone genuinely going — walking the track, checking the conditions, noting what the official information gets wrong or leaves out. We use AI to move fast on the unglamorous parts — permits, opening hours, logistics — but the judgement calls, the "is this actually worth your time" calls, stay human.

We're starting with Carnarvon Gorge in Queensland: a spectacular multi-day walk that's chronically under-covered online. It won't be the last place we go — just the first.

How it works

What "first-hand" actually means here

We go first

No guide gets published until someone from Audacia has walked it, driven it, or stayed there themselves.

We fact-check the boring bits

Permits, fees, road conditions and opening hours are checked against official sources and kept up to date — the part AI genuinely helps with.

We say when we're unsure

If something's seasonal, changeable, or we simply haven't verified it recently, we'll tell you — rather than presenting a guess as fact.
