Audacia Travel exists because too much travel content repeats the same facts without saying where they came from or when they were last true.
Why we exist
Search for almost any Australian destination and you'll find the same handful of facts, rewritten by a dozen different sites, with no source and no date. That isn't much use when you're standing at a trailhead trying to work out whether the track is open and if you've packed enough water.
Audacia Travel is our attempt to do the opposite: fewer destinations, covered properly. Every guide is researched from official sources — the park authority, government agencies and the Bureau of Meteorology — and written with AI working to fixed editorial rules. Each full guide lists its sources, shows the date it was last checked, and includes a plain "skip it if" section for the people a place won't suit. Nothing is published until a person has reviewed it. Our Editorial Standards set out the whole process.
We started with Carnarvon Gorge in Queensland, which we walked ourselves in August 2026 — that guide says so, with the dates. Most of our guides are not based on a visit, and we don't pretend otherwise: where Audacia has been to a place the guide says so and gives the date, and where it hasn't, the guide shows when it was last reviewed. More guides are being added one destination at a time.
How a guide gets made
We start from official sources
Every fact has to trace to the park authority, a government agency or the Bureau of Meteorology, and each guide lists the sources it used. Nothing is invented to fill a gap.
We date every check
Permits, fees, access and opening hours are checked against those sources, and every guide shows the date of its last check, so you can see how fresh it is before you rely on it.
We say when we're unsure
If something is seasonal or likely to change, we point you to the official alerts page rather than present a guess as fact — and we say which guides include a visit of our own and which don't.
