Privacy Policy

In short

Audacia Travel doesn't require you to create an account or give us personal information to browse the site. If you click through to book something (like a tour or accommodation), the booking platform (Viator, Stay22, Booking.com or GetYourGuide) will collect what it needs to complete that booking — we don't see or hold your payment details ourselves. We use Google Analytics, with your consent, to understand how the site is used. If you sign up for our newsletter, we'll hold your email address until you unsubscribe. We never sell your information. What we collect, and how

We collect information in two ways:

• Directly — your email address, if you subscribe to our newsletter or contact us, and whatever you choose to include in a message to us.
• Indirectly — through Google Analytics, which collects device, browser and general location/usage data once you've given cookie consent; and through the booking widgets on our destination and activity pages. When you click through to book, the platform you're booking with (not Audacia) collects what it needs to process that booking.

How we use it

We use this information to send the newsletter (if you've subscribed), respond to enquiries, understand which content is useful, and earn a referral commission when you book through one of our affiliate links. We don't sell your personal information to anyone.

Who we share it with

We share information with:

• Google, via Google Analytics, once you've given cookie consent — general usage and device data, to help us understand how the site is used.
• The relevant booking platform, when you click through to book. We currently work with Viator (tours and experiences), Stay22 (accommodation search), and, once our partner applications are approved, Booking.com and GetYourGuide.

Clicking through shares your click and, if you proceed to book, your booking details, with that platform, for the purpose of completing your booking and paying Audacia a referral commission. Each platform handles your information under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to read before booking. We don't receive your payment details, and we don't sell your information to anyone.

Data sent overseas

Some of the services above store or process data outside Australia — this includes Google Analytics (Google, primarily US-based infrastructure) and our affiliate booking partners (each operates internationally). We take reasonable steps to only work with established, reputable platforms that maintain their own privacy and security standards, but we don't have direct control over how they handle data once it's disclosed to them — their own privacy policies govern that.

Newsletter

If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter, we'll hold your email address for that purpose only, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email we send. We won't add you without your active opt-in, and we won't share your email address with anyone else.

Automated decision-making

Audacia does not use automated decision-making that significantly affects your rights or interests — for example, we don't use it to determine pricing, eligibility or access to any service.

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, contact us first — if you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
